I had the most real and intense dream the other night. I dreamt I saw my Grandpa again. (He died quite a few years ago when I was in my mid teens). He was younger and healthier than I had ever known him. He had been away for a few years and I wondered why he hadn't contacted me for so long. But he was so happy and delighted to see me. I woke feeling sad that he wasn't around anymore but touched that I had experienced such a vivid dream about him. He would find this strange modern techno world so interesting if he could see it today.
It's great how dreams can do things like that, I believe it's really a part of their purpose to help you to deal with things that the real world cant I love the cloud of yellow, green and blue at the top left. It's amazing!

There will be a twist in the story... I like to rip things in half to make it new. Pierce the needle in the Helios and there will be 50 black shards of you left...
I'm loving so much about this piece....one question, though- is the white in it the white of the paper?...The edges of color feel heavy against it...like abrasive rocks, beautiful though they may be. I certainly love the free-form details, and their clarity in the white, but I wonder how it would all look if the colors flowed in and out of each other throughout the whole piece.
like I can talk, though, lol...I've left the white showing in many of my watercolor pieces, and could defend it all pretty well, I think- just like I'm sure you can

You are correct. The white is the white of the paper. I tend to use paper white in varying degrees in my work. I like it for various different reasons. I've experimented with more colour coverage and it has worked in some pieces but Its been a process of discovering what I can get away with and what becomes too busy. Sometimes its just turns to mud.
A few years ago when I was on a residency in Vermont, I was just discovering this process of working, I created a freak piece which I've not managed to attain since I don't think. --> [link] It has very little white in it at all but still maintains its clarity and I like it a lot. I aspire to this level of coverage.
But you know, I get distracted by other things all the time. Playing with the various forms of contrast, a million variations possible with so many colours. There are so many options available and its fun to try new things like in this piece with the painted border.
But thank you for commenting, its a very interesting observation, and I'd like to try to attain Coral Forest's level of coverage again one of these days.
Don't think this is just another news article with the usual love deviations that have already hundreds of favorites! All of these deviations don't have even 100 favorites & they're the best!
Please watch them closely and show your appreciation! @
`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More

Every child is an artist.
The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.
