Marsh Abstract by amyhooton Marsh Abstract by amyhooton
Layers upon layers of Acrylic Ink and paint turned this into a highly abstract landscape which I can't quite get my head around just yet. Just dry. Painted 25th March. Would love some help with a name and maybe suggestions of any kind would be lovely.

On hand made paper.

I like how you how you can see the paper around the edges, normally it would look unfinished but I think it actually adds to this. Also I think its amazing the colors are fantastic !

actually, i would not have compared this to pollock. sam francis, maybe.

p.s. i kind of like the "eyelash effect." it gives a good sense of movment and energy to it.

:O well, ok, this is more non-representational! :) firstly, i like the title - it's as spontaneous sounding as the picture looks. i'd have to agree that this looks layered - it's almost as if many paintings were somehow fused together. but your marsh is a lot more adventurous, colorful and exciting than any round here. funny you should mention pollock. i've never been a fan (speaking mildly) of his work and i was just thinking, the day before yesterday, that because of looking at your work, i'm starting to get a better grip on his. perhaps you're making me more tolerant, or should i say 'understanding'. that's all part of your magic charm isn't it? do we get to see some golden magic on this one too?

Well that was what I was wondering, Its always hard to tell if the gold it going to add something good. Or not? I guess I've got nothing to loose except time. So I might have a go. It'll be a biggy!
Talking of pollock, I know what you mean. It was just that someone else used him as a comparison to my work which got me thinking. I don't like his colours though. But I'm not sure if I like mine in this one either!? :O

Discovered something. Gold pen doesn't work on this larger scale-as I thought - it just gets drowned by everything else. So I started to work with dark ink instead to bring out the shapes and shadows. I think i'm killing it gently now!
